The Women in Agriculture Union (WAU) is a leading organization committed to advancing gender equity within Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector. Since its inception, WAU has been at the forefront of empowering women by providing them with the necessary tools, knowledge, and support to actively participate in agriculture—a sector that is not only vital to Zimbabwe’s economy but also pivotal in ensuring national food security. Through its strategic initiatives, WAU aims to bolster women’s roles in agriculture, enabling them to contribute significantly to the nation's economic resurgence as the "breadbasket of Africa."
